Are you thinking to yourself, “Self, we need to bring in some more money!” While steadily shaking your head in frustration? Ever wonder how others seem to earn more money than you, no matter how hard you’re currently working?
Stop it.
You can either wait for the end-of-year holiday season to grow your income for gift money (and spend it all in a month), or you can start now and build a life-long financial stream. I say there’s no better time than the present (no pun intended). Take what you have right now and build your bank account once and for all! Here are five ways you can increase your income – in which you’re missing out on:
Training modules – Anything you know can be taught to others, just as you were once taught. Instead of sharing your knowledge for free (this is often known as “picking your brain”) create audio or video training and sell, sell, sell. Chances are, someone is already selling what you know. So if you want to increase your income asap, start by creating training modules — along with an attention-grabbing website and Facebook group — and get paid to help others.
Affiliate programs – Ever notice those banner ads for some of the products or services you might already use, like website hosting? Major companies are paying site owners to share their businesses with the world. If you own a site (a free site wouldn’t do, sorry!) sign up for a few affiliate programs and earn commissions when someone clicks and make a purchase. Amazon offers a great program; who hasn’t bought anything from Amazon?
Organizing spaces – If you’re always receiving compliments for being super tidy or for coming up with “I-wish-I’d-thought-of-this” solutions for storing and sorting, you should consider becoming an organizer for others. You’ll help others find clarity and you’ll help yourself to an extra income. Win-win.
Use your hobbies – To piggyback off the organizing idea, think about other things you are great at performing in your spare time. Cooking can turn into a personal chef business. Sewing can help you become a tailor or fashion designer. Gardening…do you see where I’m going with this?
Driving others – Thanks to Uber, those in need of a ride no longer have to settle for taxicabs. However, there is a slight flaw in Uber’s business model: drivers still have to buy their gas. If that’s the case, why not start your own driving service and cut out the middleman (that would be Uber). All you would need is a mobile phone and Paypal account. Drive friends and family around and rely on word-of-mouth advertising. I’m talking an extra income with your own car…why not?
It is my hope that you’re inspired to increase your income today. After all, in most cases, you already possess the tools to bring home more bacon. When you think about what might be in front of you (your talents and your internet connection!) you’ll find there are more ways to fatten your bank account than you think.
